Time Series Data
We have added a number of data indicators to the existing data indicators to track how your community is doing over time. These additions include:
- Population 2002
- Labor Force 2002
- Unemployment 2002
- Unemployment rate 2002
- Total Announced Layoffs 2002
- Manufacturing Layoffs 2002
New Indicators:
- Home-ownership (available for all people and breakdowns by race and ethnicity - White, Black, American Indian, Asian, and Hispanic)
- Home-ownership Without Mobile Homes (this data indicator is the percent of people who own a home that is not a mobile home)
- Median Household Income (available for all people and breakdowns by race and ethnicity - White, Black, American Indian, Asian, and Hispanic)
Updated Data
The following data items have been updated:
- Percent Receiving Food Stamps
- Crime Rate
- Property Tax Rate
- Students passing End of Grade Exams (for all breakdowns - this data now calculates the passing rates for all students in grade 3-8)
- Average SAT Score
- Dropout Rate
- Agricultural Receipts (all breakdowns)
Data based on the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) have been replaced with the new North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). This new system was created by the North American Free Trade (NAFTA) partners (the United States, Canada, and Mexico) to replace each of the country's separate classification systems with one uniform system for classifying industries. The change was made to better compare economic and financial statistics and to ensure that such statistics keep pace with the changing economy.
Percent Working and Average Wage data now available for the following NAICS categories:
- Natural Resources and Mining
- Construction
- Manufacturing
- Trade, Transportation, and Utilities
- Information and Financial Activities
- Services
- Public Administration
