Make plans to join us on September 28th and 29th for the 2015 N. C. Rural Assembly. The Rural Center staff has put an incredible amount of work into preparing an outstanding agenda, including workshops on topics vital to rural economic development, an awards dinner that will recognize outstanding accomplishments in rural leadership and economic devleopment, and a full day where we will go deep into the issue of broadband infrastructure.
Plus, we'll have all of the networking and information sharing you expect from this annual reunion of rural leadership from all over North Carolina.
A robust physical infrastructure is an essential building block of economic development, but increasingly, without reliable and affordable access to broadband infrastructure our communities fail to function at optimum levels — businesses can't interact with their customers, govenments can't provide full and easy access to information to their citizens, health care providers can't transmit medical records or provide remote diagnostic services, educational institutions can't fulfill their missions of preparing a world class workforce, and rural citizens lose economic opportunity.
Our Assembly will put you in touch with state and national leaders equipped with the latest information and resources to enable communities to leverage and expand what they have or build what they need. We will bring to you examples of successful projects from a variety of perspectives from around the country and the state, and we will showcase best practices in forming public/private partnerships to leverage broadband connectivity.
