Delivering resources for businesses
Rural communities will prosper only to the extent they can build and sustain a strong private sector. Businesses create both jobs and wealth for individuals and the community. Several Rural Center programs address specific areas of business development.
The N.C. Small Business Credit Initiative helps make capital available for business startups and expansions across the state. With more business investment comes more jobs for North Carolinians.
The Microenterprise Loan Program works with individuals who have sound ideas for starting or expanding a small business but may not qualify for bank loans.
The Institute for Rural Entrepreneurship helps North Carolina and its communities develop policies and programs that encourage the start-up and growth of locally owned companies of all shapes and sizes.
The Rural Center is pleased to be a partner with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina's Business Link North Carolina, which provides support and information to business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the state. (www.edpnc.com/start-or-grow-a-business)
