Letter Of Intent
Those interested in submitting a proposal for a Research and Demonstration Grant must submit a Letter of Intent to the Rural Center. The letter should be no more than three (3) pages in length. The Letter of Intent will be reviewed and, if selected for further action, the applicant will be asked to submit a grant proposal. This letter must contain the following information:
- Project Title
- Applicant and Type of Organization
- The letter must indicate the full name and address of the applicant organization and the type of organization, i.e., nonprofit 501(c)(3), local government, etc.
- Issue Area
- The applicant must indicate the issue area the project addresses, i.e., workforce development, physical infrastructure, business development, or civic infrastructure.
- Purpose Statement
- The applicant must provide a concise statement of the purpose of the project in one or two sentences.
- Need Statement
- The applicant must demonstrate the need for the project or a gap that the project will address.
- Project Overview
- The applicant must provide a brief description of activities proposed, the time frame of the project, identify participants or partnerships involved, describe innovative elements of the project, and identify target geography and population to be served.
- Expected Results
- The applicant must describe project objectives and potential outcomes.
- Grant Amount
- The letter must indicate the amount of the request.
Letters of Intent can be submitted throughout the fiscal year, which ends June 30. Submit them to:
