News & Updates

From the very beginning, the Rural Counts advocacy team has been committed to taking its lead from the wisdom of local champions and partners across the state. Last year, we toured North Carolina’s 80 rural counties listening to your priorities within our advocacy platform Rural Counts: 10 Strategies for Rural North Carolina’s Future. Then, this fall, we built upon this framework with our series of Zero Barrier Policy Roundtables, which helped us create our 2019 advocacy priorities.

Now, fresh on the heels of Rural Day (the largest event in Rural Center history!) we are hitting the road once again to work with you to put the advocacy priorities we discussed at Rural Day into action. Join us for regional updates on what’s happening in the General Assembly and what you can do to advance important legislation in the areas of broadband, health, small business, and more.

Join other rural advocates from across the state to learn how you can have a direct impact on state policy this year!
