The NC Rural Center understands how critical an accurate 2020 census count is for all North Carolinians, especially those in rural communities. That said, we are embarking on a ‘Get Out the Count’ initiative in Northampton and Halifax counties, two of North Carolina’s 15 hard-to-count counties. Our efforts will focus on fostering engagement, building capacity, and providing organizational support to rural advocates and leaders.
We hope you can join us for one of our upcoming 2020 Census Briefings: Ensuring Rural Counts. We’ll learn why the 2020 census is imperative for many aspects of rural life, including maintaining political representation and funding for vital needs like schools, roads, infrastructure, etc. as well as what you and your organization can do to get involved in ensuring #RuralCounts.
