Though the state’s rural makeup has changed as North Carolina has evolved, the mission of the NC Rural Center has never wavered. We have always worked to improve the quality of life for rural people in rural places. As the Center celebrates our 35th anniversary in 2022, we draw from what we’ve learned in the past with a renewed dedication to our work today, and a strengthened commitment to building a vibrant future for all of rural North Carolina.
