Conference Space

The SECU Training and Conference Center at the NC Rural Center is available weekdays to government, nonprofits, and community groups for meetings, strategic planning, training session, luncheons, other gatherings. The SECU Conference Center can seat 200 people theater-style or 150 people with tables and chairs. If you don’t need that much room, a divider can be extended to cut the space in half.

The SECU Conference Center features powerful projectors and multiple screens, so presentations can be seen from any angle. A built-in audio system may be used to easily record your meeting. Tables, chairs, and easel stands are included.

The SECU Conference Center includes a kitchen with a large refrigerator and an industrial ice machine. Although cooking facilities are not available, we welcome all local caterers and can make suggestions if you need assistance with choosing just the right meal for the occasion. We can provide coffee service for a very nominal charge.

  • Full facility: $500 full day, $300 half day
  • Half of the facility: $300 full day, $150 half day

Payment for use should be submitted no later than 15 days after the event.

When is the space available?

The SECU Conference Center is available for rent Tuesdays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m, except on holidays. Overnight use of the training center is not permitted.

Can I decorate the space?

Posters, signs, etc. may not be taped or adhered to the walls or windows of the SECU Conference Center.

When can I have my vendors drop off rentals etc.?

This depends on when you are getting access to the space and what is worked out between your caterers. We allow access prior to your rental time as long as you clear it with us first.

Do we have to clean-up following the event?

Before leaving, the user must place all trash in the receptacles and remove all personal property brought into the SECU Conference Center. If the conference center serving dishes and/or utensils have been used, they should be washed, or rinsed and placed in the dishwasher. All tables used in the kitchen or conference center must be wiped down to remove dirt and crumbs. Visible crumbs must be picked up from the floor. If additional cleaning fees are incurred by the NC Rural Center as a result of the user’s use of the conference center, the user will be responsible for paying the excess charges to the NC Rural Center.
