Position Description
The Senior Administrative Assistant ensures the smooth functioning of the Small Business Capital division
within the NC Rural Center. The Senior Administrative Assistant reports to the Administration and Compliance
Manager of the division and supports the president and executive vice president. The Senior Administrative
Assistant works in collaboration with each division team member to establish and maintain an easy flow of
accurate information in a timely manner within the division, and also works in conjunction with colleagues in
other divisions within the NC Rural Center, the board of directors, clients, and partners.
The Senior Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative functions including scheduling
appointments and managing executive calendars, drafting correspondence and memos, assisting in planning
and running key meetings, improving efficiencies, and various other administrative duties. In addition, the
Senior Administrative Assistant is an active member of the division, representing administrative functions and
requirements, reflecting the organization’s core values, and is a champion for constant improvement. The
Senior Administrative Assistant brings a passion for the mission of the small business capital division, must
have strong interpersonal skills, be comfortable in a rapidly changing environment, and exemplify the
collaboration and teamwork that is essential to the growth and success of the small business capital division.
This role requires a self-starter who can take the initiative to improve efficiency across the small business
capital division, be accountable for managing multiple schedules and deadlines, and represent the Center to
external stakeholders in a reliably professional and courteous manner. This position is ideal for a reliable
individual who is a self-starter, organized, resourceful, strong communicator, and collaborative. The right
person will be able to anticipate division needs and take the initiative to get things done.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Support the president and executive vice president of the division in a manner consistent with the
highest level of performance and professionalism
● Manage executive calendars and act as point of contact for scheduling meetings with internal and
external stakeholders, partners, etc.
● Provide administrative support as necessary for correspondence, ensuring a timely response and
accurate follow-up and filing
● Manage travel arrangements as needed, provide detailed itineraries, manage receipts, and produce
monthly expense reports
● Ensure timely reporting throughout the division for administrative reports such as timesheets and
reimbursements
● Arrange team and other relevant meetings and events, assist in the planning and execution of division
meetings, and provide logistical support for in-person and remote meetings with a variety of
stakeholders
● Assist in filing of information received to ensure maximum efficiency for all team members
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle situations and issues requiring discretion
● Ability to be flexible and able to work independently to troubleshoot problems as they arise
● Duties may include additional support of Board of Directors and other key constituencies
● Other duties as assigned

Experience, Skills & Qualities Required
● 10+ years administrative experience in a fast-paced professional environment preferred
● Outstanding organizational and time management skills with great attention to detail and follow-up;
must be able to meet strict deadlines and multi-task
● Ability to tackle a project with minimal direction and detail provided
● Positive, poised, flexible, patient—must be professional in all daily interactions with external
stakeholders or internal staff
● Proficiency in Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and
PowerPoint; and have the ability to quickly learn these tools: CRM Tools (i.e., Salesforce) Virtual Event
Platforms (i.e., Zoom, CVENT); Project Management Tools/Software (i.e., Asana, Calendly, Doodle Poll).

Compensation
Compensation package commensurate with experience and includes a salary in the $45,864 – $58,066 range.
Benefits include a comprehensive health benefits plan, retirement matching, tuition reimbursement, paid time
off, hybrid remote work options, disability and life insurance. The position will be based in Raleigh, NC at the
NC Rural Center office at least two days per week, with hybrid remote work also allowed. The NC Rural Center
