Alfred has worked as a research/GIS associate at the Rural Center since 2015.
He grew up in Accra, Ghana, attending elementary, middle, and high school. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in geography and resource development from the University of Ghana and his master’s degree in geospatial analytics from NC State University.
Alfred joined the Rural Center after graduation and after a brief stint with North Carolina State University’s Institute for Transportation Research and Education, where he led a GIS-based research into the “Accessibility and Demographic Assessment of North Carolina Charter Schools.”
As much as he is passionate about understanding the differences in the characteristics of places as evidenced by his affinity for geography, Alfred is equally passionate about soccer and–most recently–college basketball. He loves running and walking in the parks in his free time.
