Andrew is the Program Associate for the Faith in Rural Communities team. He is a native of Altavista, a small town in southern Virginia where his grandfather was the mayor for 24 years. Andrew holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work degree from James Madison University and a Master’s of Theological Studies from Wesley Theological Seminary. While attending seminary he worked part-time as the Associate Pastor for Youth at a growing United Methodist Church in rural Virginia.
Prior to calling North Carolina home, Andrew completed a year of full-time volunteer service with a faith-based organization in Houston, Texas serving at an emergency homeless shelter for women and single-parent families. He has worked with churches across the state through positions with the North Carolina Council of Churches and Johnson Service Corps, an affiliate of the Episcopal Service Corps located in the Triangle.
In his free time, Andrew enjoys exploring North Carolina’s state parks system and sitting on his front porch swing chatting with his neighbors.
