Brandon serves as the vice president of finance and administration at the NC Rural Center, where he leads finance, HR, facilities, and IT operations. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Brandon experienced firsthand the difficulties of growing up as a minority in one of the most segregated cities in the United States.
Brandon holds a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and received his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was selected as a Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellow.
Brandon comes to the NC Rural Center having served as a leader at several high-profile nonprofit education organizations, including as chief operations and finance officer of KIPP ENC, director of finance & HR with California Education Partners and Education Pioneers, and director of school operations, interim principal, and dean of students at Achievement First. Prior to entering the nonprofit sector, Brandon worked in treasury and investor relations for a Fortune 1,000 company. In addition, he brings his experience as a small-business owner, having co-founded a multi-state construction company, and most recently, an education consulting firm.
From 1998 – 2002, Brandon served in the United States Air Force, where he received multiple campaign medals and numerous awards for his service.
