Emily is the program associate for the NC Rural Center’s Leadership and Engagement team. In this role, Emily provides support to various leadership training programs such as REDI and Homegrown Leaders. Emily also leads efforts to engage the Leadership Alumni Network, connecting the state’s rural leaders to resources, professional development opportunities, and more.
Emily is originally from High Point, North Carolina, where she developed her passion for volunteerism and nonprofits. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in nonprofit studies from N.C. State University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University Continuing Studies. Emily returned to Raleigh after working in the nonprofit sector in Danville, Virginia where she built an appreciation for small town life.
In her free time, Emily enjoys exploring new trails with her dog or scoring the perfect vintage find at a thrift store.
