Jessica joined the Rural Center and Thread Capital in January 2020, and currently holds the position of Manager of Strategic Initiatives. In her role, she oversees and advances special projects and key institutional priorities for both organizations. At the core of all her work, she directs and implements the Center’s strategic planning.
Previously, Jessica was the Curatorial Assistant to the Chief Curator for over three years at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, New York. There, she helped to curate several exhibitions, most notably a 2017 mid-career survey of the Los Angeles-based artist Laura Owens, which traveled to the Dallas Museum of Art and Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Prior to her career at the Whitney Museum, Jessica was a Curatorial Assistant at the Drawing Center in New York, New York.
Jessica received her Masters of Art in the History of Art and Architecture at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. She also received her Bachelors of Science in Human Biology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
