Marley is the Administrative Coordinator for the Advocacy Team where she supports overall planning and logistics for the Rural Counts program, with a special focus on the organization and coordination of essential program areas.
She previously worked for Rural Forward North Carolina where her proudest accomplishment was being at the forefront of starting the NC Inclusive Disaster Recovery (NCIDR) network after Hurricane Matthew devastated parts of rural North Carolina. Prior to that, she spent 20 years raising her two children to be compassionate, thoughtful and strong advocates for those around them who do not have a voice as strong as theirs.
Marley is a Maryland native who made her way down south via a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Elon University. Her love of southern hospitality, Carolina blue skies and all things Duke (Go Duke!) is what led her to stay in North Carolina to start and raise a family.
When not spending time with family and friends, Marley can be found on a plane somewhere living out her favorite quote, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”
