Has spent the last decade helping others to tell their stories in writing. From teaching English at a rural community high school in Robeson County and tutoring other students in the UNCP University Writing Center to creating technical documentation across numerous businesses and organizations in the Triangle area, Tank has learned how important it is for a community to be able to express themselves in a way that is as understandable as it is meaningful. He feels lucky to have had the opportunity to study and teach abroad in Germany, which has helped him to understand more deeply the connection between a person’s culture and their identity. People’s stories give insight into who they are and Tankhopes to spend his time at the NC Rural Center helping those that we work with to tell their stories.
After his year as a VISTA, Tank hopes to continue developing his career in the public sector; eventually, running for a local office. Vote Tank!
