The NC Rural Center has been providing financing to North Carolina entrepreneurs since 1989 in the belief that relatively small amounts of capital can make a huge impact on our communities. Small-business owners across our state are starting and expanding businesses to create jobs and wealth, both of which are often in short supply in rural communities. The NC Rural Center works to fill gaps in the types of business financing available in rural areas.
The Rural Center provides loans for people who have sound ideas for starting or expanding a small business but may not qualify for bank loans. We offer loan amounts up to $25,000 and all loans are offered in combination with business planning and technical assistance. We place special emphasis on serving rural, low-income, female, and minority borrowers. For more information, download our factsheet.
