About the Alumni Network
Alumni of the Rural Economic Development Institute (REDI) and Homegrown Leaders are leaders in their fields who are committed to the success of rural North Carolina. Standing on the shoulders of those who have come before them, REDI and Homegrown Leaders alumni are working hard in their communities and creating pathways to prosperity. The Leadership Alumni Network provides a space for graduates of our programs to stay connected and continue the conversation about innovative leadership.

N.C.’S Rural Libraries Support Changing Communities
“[Libraries] were community centers, they always have been and hopefully they’ll continue for many, many years… We need to continue to get the word out about libraries—that we’re here, and that we’re not outdated. Communities need libraries, even more now than ever.”
Joan Sherif, Director Northwestern Regional Library, Homegrown Leaders Graduate
